I recently built a new computer. I got all the hardware installed and everything worked fine for a few months. I have a 8800gtx video card and a ViewSonic VX922 19" LCD monitor. I hvae been updating the video drivers for my video card from the NVIDIA website. When i first built the computer, I was having no problems with the Black Screen. Now, When ever I turn the computer on the screen just stays black and the power light will blink green. I have to turn off the computer and wait for the monitor light to turn orange and then turn on the computer for it to work. Well, when I get windows booted up I try to play games like COD2, BF2, BF2142 and when I double click the screen goes black and the green light on the monitor starts to blink. I can hear sound somethimes, I just don't get any display. I have to turn the computer completely off and reboot. Also, when I try to change the resolution in windows, from say 1280x1024, I get the same black screen and I have to reboot. I have tried a few different drivers for the video card and nothing seems to fix it. I am at my wits end!
Please, if anybody has some tips about what is going on please help!
Here are my specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
Nforce 680i MB
evga Nvidia 8800gtx (latetest drivers)
Raptor 150GB HD
2GB Corsair SLI Memory
I have the exact same specs and the EXACT same problem.
WTF is going on - newver seen this before in seven previous builds.
Help us poor creatures someone!!!!
Count in as the 3rd here to have the exact same problems with the VX922 but with different computer specs. I'm pretty sure this is the monitor's scaling circuitry. The problem will only occur when a video card sends it signals going from one resolution to another, which is why you're seeing the problems at boot (800x600), and games (which usually have their corporate logos in a different resolution).
Same problem here. Black screen on resolution change and blinking green light. I'm trying to arrange return now. LCD bought on dabs.com in spring 2006.
