Corrupt or Missing file

Hey guys,

My comp crashed on me and after I tried to reboot, I get the error message
saying that Windows/SYSTEM/CONFIG is missing/corrupt. Says I should use the windows disc to repair. I tried that but have no idea how to do this. Can someone be kind enough to show me the steps to repair my comp? Hate to reformat..so much files on it =x
