I see monster cable company sells these dvi-d cables for $99.00. Why are
most other companies(mostly computer) selling the same type of cable for
under $20.00. These companies claim they work well for hdtv broadcasts.
What gives? Also, one more quick ? When I install my channel master 4
bay uhf, it looks like all of the signals I will be able to receive
range from 184degrees to 188 degrees. Will I have to get a rotor for
this varience of degrees? thanks mike

Monster uses special EP-qualified* cable, it's woven by hand in the black
forest by enchanted video gnomes

* EP = enhanced profitability

Not to mention that regular digital cables only carry only low resolution
1's and 0's... while Monster's guaranteed "extremely digital" cable carries
1.000000's and 0.000000's

that's what I thought. Oh how we weave the threads of "big business" into a
future capitalistic society....

Partly because they (Monster and salespeople) make more money selling
Monster cables for $99.99 which is awfully close to $100.

Partly because another $100 doesn't seem like much when spending several
thousand dollars for a HDTV set.

Partly because most people don't know the reality is that in most cases a
DVI cable either works or it doesn't.

Partly because Monster cables are fancier in appearance and impress your
friends.

And partly because some people really believe they are the ultimate in DVI
cables.

I paid $27.46 at WalMart for a Philips DVI cable and it works great!

Hi,

I ended up getting that same cable as well. (And a cheap DVI-HDMI adapter.)
Working great here too. I find the best, if not most humorous, thing with
Phillip's cable products is the packaging that ship in. Its very, well,
"Monsteresque". Normally, when you see a cable hanging from a store rack in
that type of packaging, you start to turn immiedietly away -- but Phillip's
packaging also uses large price labels to grab your eye that they are only
1/5th the price of Monster's. LOL. Thats great, "In you face, Monster!"
marketing!

LOL

Damn! You mean my digital cables are only passing 0.99999's and 0.00001's?

I better go get some Monsters quick!

That really depends upon whether or not your current cables adhere to
the IEEE 754 floating point representation standards...

If not and they adhere to Microsoft's implementation of the standard
(see Excel), then anything "close to" zero, is rounded down to zero...

No, you will NOT need a Rotor for 4 degree angle among

the UHF Towers..... The 4 bay bow tie covers a bigger

angle very well... Aim for the Avg angle in the group...

Fortunately, for binary... close to 0 is 0. And not close to 0 is 1. So
they can pass 0.001s and and 4.387s for all I care. :p
