Wait to see how Auzentechs new sound card works out. its due out at the end of May and it's based on the X-Fi so it does EAX 5.0 and it will be like the current Auzentechs and can output any audio stream to DDL and DTS.

Interesting. The big down side is so far Vista kills EAX. so in the future it looks like things will be all DXAA. Still i will keep an eye out for that card when its released. will it take in a dts signal and convert it to analog as well?

Razer Barracuda is better but to get the full benefit you need some special headphones made by the same company. The price is much higher than just getting an X-Fi ExtremeMusic.

I wouldn't buy a Fatality or Elite card. The X-Fi ExtremeMusic is cheaper and offers exactly the same quality. It just lacks several features that I personally don't need.

I guess it depends on how good your ears/speakers/budget are. If they're all way above average then by all means get the Elite, it's designed specially for you :p
