Ok I have a mge sidewinder case that came with a 450 watt psu, an e4300, 8800 gts from bfg, 320 sata hd, dvd drive, 1 gig of corsair 512 x2 timings from newegg said 5-5-5-15 ddr2 800. Oh and a gigabyte 965p ds3 revision 3.3
Ok so I wanted to OC from 1.8 ghz to something midranged to about 2.8ghz. I went and changed my fsb from 200 to 240 and I got some weird EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise and my system kept turning on and off and then after 6 times of powering down it went back to default. Is it my psu the problem or what things do I need to turn off for my OC to work and what things do I need to change to get a stable OC? What temps should I expect? is 70C alot or what? pretty much i need a step by step oc guide that is super duper ez to understand i guess or just need to know what im doing wrong. Thanks a bunch guys!!
update!! well it ends up my bios had the CIA2 and c1e and EIST things on so no wonder it didn't work =) thanks guys for helping and now I am running at a stable 2.7ghz =) on stock volts and everything!!! thanks a bunchies guys
congrads on getting it to run, but dr_kuli makes a great point, if you read the guides, they normally tell you the steps to take to get your OC to work.
