I'm looking for software to rip my dvd's to my HTPC, I'd like to maintain the full quality, file size is not an issue. I want them to be in a standard format(AVI, MPEG, etc.) that any media player can read, and I'd prefer the software to be free if at all possible. Thanks.

EDIT

So I have the files decrypted and ripped onto my hard drive, now how do I convert them to something windows media player will read?

To rip DVD's onto the computer, I use DVD Shrink. Its free, and it allows you to rips the actual VOB's right from the DVD. Now...your problem is that you can't play VOB's in Windows Media Player. To play DVD's, I like to use WinDVD. Also, WinDVD will play the VOB's files, so after you rip the files onto your hard drive, you can play back the VOB's. You will get the full quality of the DVD. To start the DVD, there should be a file called VTS_01 or something along those lines. Its a small file (.ifo). That will actually run the main menu which should start the movie.
