I have Vista X64

I recently install itunes and quicktime. Now I want to remove them but it won't let me in control panel. So I manually deleted the folders in program files and did a search for the keywords in regedit and deleted every single reference.

No If I try to run the installer it says:
http://short-media.com/forum/attac [...] 1173170420
This installer has encountered an unexpected...Error code 2738.


And I heard on Apple forums people suggesting to use "Windows Installer Cleanup" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301so I downloaded it but when I tried to run it:

Cannot find script engine "VBScript" for script

So now I can't use itunes/quicktime/and who knows what else requiring windows installer.

I tried to find something to reinstall Windows Installer or the VBscript/.Net but it's all for XP and below, and doesn't work on vista.

Can anyone help?

I think you've messed up your registry too much at this point. I would recommend a rebuild or an app that can clean the registry (though I've never found one that fixes this type of issue very well).
