I hard reset my ipaq hx4700 and now I no longer have the 'flight mode'
function available when I click the icon at the top of the screen. It just
tells me that I am connected and allows me to go to settings. I really
liked the quick access to flight mode. How can I get it back?

BTW, running ROM 1.10

Thanks,
T

Flight mode is part of the phone devices. I wasn't aware that it was
on the non-phone wireless devices. Was it a third party app doing that
for you? If it was part of the ROM, doing a hard reset would have no
effect. Two things come to mind:

1) It is in ROM but you have installed a third party addon/driver that
is conflicting with it.

2) It isn't in ROM and you are now missing a third party or even HP
driver that added that functionality in.

I experience this quite often. It seems as if 'flight mode' isn't available
unless you have made a wireless connection and then turned it off, if you
see what I mean. Try it and see if it comes back. I noticed this phenomena
after doing a soft reset once and was resigned to not getting it back until
I tried the above.

Very interesting. Thanks. I wonder if this is the norm and I've just
never seen it because with a phone, it always has a connection?

I think that's entirely possible although I have never had the pleasure of
owning a PPC phone. I guess when you think about it it's quite logical -if a
PPC user has been using Wifi then the Flight mode option becomes available.
If the functionality isn't being used then there is no need for it.

I have enabled and disabled WiFi several times over the last few days
using the iPaq Wireless Connections screen, yet I still don't have the
'flight mode' function.

As far as I know, it is part of the current ROM, not part of a 3rd party
add-on, but I don't know why I don't have it now.
