My problem... I have Verizon DSL. I play Battlefield 2 online. While online my ping is normal, usually around 60. When someone else in my house gets online and its usually if they go to My Space, my ping goes through the roof and I get kicked from the server. I currently have a Netgear WGR 614 v6 router and both computers are hardwired to the router.
I recently saw an ad for a D Link DGL 4300 "Gaming" router and the ad claimed that you would get "no lag or lost connections" or something like that.
My question... Would getting a router like the one I mentioned possibly help me with connection and lag problems that I'm currently experiencing?
The beauty of american propaganda. It's like selling fecal matter to a blind person and claiming it's a new flavor.
That gaming router probably only has some QOS setting for you to prioritize traffic base on some IP or layer 4 port. Aside from that, all it does is take traffic in from one interface and forwards it out another just like all the other routers in the market.

For example, maximum simultaneous connections supported are different for routers. If you are running P2P on a netgear rangemax wireless router (WPN824) with only 2 connections supported, good luck doing anything else.
