hi
ive recently got a hold of a dgl4100 to upgrade from my new housemates netgear router which was disconnecting intermittently.

The dlink doesnt seem to want to recognise the modem (motorola sb5101) or the presence of any WAN at all in the setup. I am connected to bigpond cable in Aust.

ive followed the instructions on the dlink help
The WAN light flashes
I can connect to my housemates computer
if i disconnect the router I can connect to the internet just fine

If anyone has any idea whats going on that would great.

Try D-Link web / email tech support?

Try a recent firmware revision for your location and model?

Here's a thread which might help:

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/for [...] 99785.html

I have a DGL-4300 running firmware version 1.8, and it's fine, but I'm using DSL, so can't help further with BigPond.

cheers Madwand

ive got the latest firmware from the aust dlink site.

i notice that that bloke in that thread was also in queensland. i wonder whether using one of the generic server names rather than the qld specific address will do the trick

ill check it this afternoon, failing that ill email dlink
