Stay away from the Intel one. Not only is it not a Core2Duo, it's not even a dualcore- it's just an old singlecore Pentium with HyperThreading.

On a side note - Vista runs a little smoother/faster with 2GB. If you have the cash, I suggest you pick up an extra gig of memory.

in this case amd is the better deal - yuk! buy used on ebay!

x2 is faster lower power chip - it has huge oc potnetioal if you can unlock the timing crystal on the mobo.
what u do is buy it and put a newe mobo in it and oc to 2.6-2.8ghz reload windows without the junkware they add for profit.

use free spydoctor from google and avg

In this case AMD no questions ask!!! Like it was said b4, the amd it's a dual core, that makes a big difference!!

And let me ask u this, r you planning in play games? if so, the only bad thing about thouse 2 computers is that it has a integrated video, but the good news is that it has the PCI express16!!! So if you game, all you need is buy a decent video card and u are good to go!!!

Hope we can help!!!

The AMD seems like an okay deal with Monitor & printer. As far as Grfx, it has:

Graphics : Built-in NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6150 SE graphics with 319MB of shared video memory—128MB dedicated

That's likey as good as you can do on the integrated front. Should play most games okay, but no super gaming resolutions or eye-candy. It does have PCIexpress if you want to upgrade later. 1GB ram is a minimum for Vista. Buy more when you can.

At work we bought nearly the same system 8 months ago. It had ati express grfx instead. We paid $700 refurbished & no monitor. I use it for office stuff and some video editing. Just Dandy.

Oh, that P4 system is not worth considering. If you look at Intel, you need Core 2 based processors.

Definately go with the ATHLON system as it is far superior to the INTEL one offered.Although bothe systems offer a slightly older processor, the Athlon is a true dual core cpu, whereas the Intel cpu only works like a dual core and is not actually a dual core cpu.Although its performance is better than a normal 32bit cpu,It simply can't keep up with a real dual core cpu.Goodluck.
