Ok so I have decided to switch to Intel. Here is my final config:

Antec P180B

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA

XFX PVT73GUGF3 GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply - Retail

A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz LGA 775 Processor

Anyone see any compatibility issues? I plan to start with XP on this and then transition to Vista soon. I also want to through a TV tuner in later

Switch the Antec SmartPower to either an Antec TruePower or one of the good FSP units from Newegg.

FSP AX450-PN 450watt 12v:2x18a PSU 20+4pin $56+8 4/28/07

FSP AX500-PN 500watt 12v:2x18 PSU 20+4pin $67+7 4/28/07
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Antec TruePowerTrio TP3-430 PSU Active PFC $80+8 4/28/07
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681...

Antec TruePowerTrio TP3-550 PSU Active PFC $100+0 4/28/07

I know the SmartPower is on sale for only $40 now, but it is not worth it.

What is the different between SmartPower and TruePower? There was a SmartPower 500W for 70

Completely different construction. Cheap vs. well made.
The TruePower also comes with undervolt molex fan-only headers for quiet system operation. Check out the power supply section in this forum if you need more info.
