Get a motherboard with the nForce4 (regular, ultra or SLI) chipset.
Do not buy a Via or SIS chipset board.
This pretty much means getting a $150 Asus, a group of reasonably priced Foxconn choices, or one of the DFIs. An NVidia 6100/6150 is a pretty good chipset, but you won't need the integrated video. I'd have no problems recommending the Foxconn boards. They are a major OEM supplier, though less known as a direct marketer.
Would the BIOSTAR GEFORCE 6100-M9 or Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS be a better choice? I've narrowed it down to these 2. All the nForce4 socket 939 boards listed on newegg have bad Ocing capabilities.
Nope, you got that backwards. nF4 boards in general OC just fine. Yes, all the old favorites are gone. I'd avoid the ECS and Jetway boards, but the Foxconns should be fine. Motherboards with integrated graphics do not overclock well. One other choice:
MSI K8N NEO-4
