Deleting it would be the easiest route. If the program can't be found in Programs and Features, then it probably isn't installed.
If you're meaning the Vonage icon is in lower right corner and you can't get it to go away: Type msconfig in the search bar after clicking the windows icon in the lower left. Under Boot unclick the programs you don't want to run when Windows starts up.
So it would be Ok just to go ahead and delete all the links that I find from a search for that item and other junk I would like to get rid of?
If it's not showing in the uninstall programs list then it is not installed on the computer?
First time playing with Vista and there is a ton of junk on this machine that I would like to get rid of like Snapfish Photos, Vonage, AOL, eBay, earthlink ETC.
Most of what I wrote I learned plainly from dealing with XP. Vista is a bit different, but a lot of the interface is the same as before.
For any links, those will just direct a browser to a website, not much more. If you mean links in the search, I'd go to the folder they're located in and straight out delete the folders, if you don't want any of the things in there. If anything is located in a WINDOWS subfolder, try to avoid doing anything with those. Just as a precaution.
