I have a Toshiba SD-3750 and just recently purchased a Panasonic
PT60LCX63. The Toshiba is progressive scan, and I have it connected to
the Panasonic with component cables...problem is, the picture truly is
poor. Random scenes have visible lines, just not a sharp picture most
of the time. I realize the picture from the DVD will never match the
HD signal, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong...or, do I need to
get a new player? Any suggestions?

Could be that the DVD player has to be "programmed" to output a progressive
image. My Sanyo was that way. Check the manual.

How does it look if you hook it up with the plain component output?
If your TV has "3:2 pulldown", it might possibly do a better job of
progressivizing the video than the player does.

Actually went out and bought the Toshiba (don't have the model # right
now) that upconverts with an HDMI connection. Picture still doesn't
look very good. I think I'm just expecting too much....spoiled by the
clarity of HDTV I guess.
