I was told by Sony that: "Unfortunately, the television will cannot display
information from a video input in HD." They are referring to closed
captioning.

Can anyone provide me information why it is so difficult to provide the
closed captioning?

I have the Dish 811 furnishing the input to the Sony. Unless I have the 811
set up for closed captioning, I cannot get it at all. Even when I set up
the 811 for closed captioning, it will not display the closed captioning on
any HD Channel other than ESPN. I was assured by TNT that they were feeding
the CC to SD and HD.

I appreciate any insight into this.
