Hello,

I'm interested in hearing from owners of the 37 inch LCD hdtv, all
models. What do you like, dislike and what did you pay for this item?
Also what's the difference between LC-37GD6U, LC-37GD4U and LC-37G4U?
Sharps web site is pretty good but it is hard to find any differences,
except for the tuner type and speaker placement. Anything to watch out
for?

Thanks

George

Yes, the difference between the G4, GD4, and GD6 is exactly that:
whether the set has an ATSC tuner & cablecard slot and where the
speakers are placed. For the Sharp Aquos series: 4 = speakers on side, 6
= speakers on bottom, G = no ATSC tuner, GD = with Digital ATSC tuner,
GX = external AVC box. All that info is on the Sharp webpage once you
sort through it.

George.

I just purchased a Sharp LC37G4U set got it on Tues and hooked it up to
a HD/DVR receiver that was free from DISH Network{including free
install and receivers for up to 4 rooms} and all I can say is WOW. I am
a happy camper. The HD picture is out of sight. I mounted it on the
wall and it is like having living art on your walls. I checked out all
the big box store in Atlanta and it was easy to see the SHARP had the
best picture quality. The set at Best Buy was $4999 + $350 sales tax but
I bought it on line at WWW.bestpriceaudiovideo.com for $3348 inc.
shipping and no tax so saved 2K and it was a hassle free transaction
and I received it in a week. I would reccomend this company. You will
be happy.

Huh, well thats interesting. I just went to that sight and they have that
item listed at $4,999.99, same price as Best Buy, and of course they are
out of stock. They do have the almost identical LC37HV6U model for
$5,999.99. Your price sure is interesting since they don't even have 32
inch models at that price. Well I guess you accomplished your goal, you got
me to look, to bad I'm not buying.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the feedback. I've got a million questions for you <grin> but
I'll just ask a few.

Any dead/stuck pixels? I know HDTV programming is great on the Aquos, but
have you tried it with DVDs and SD TV yet? I have found a couple of sites
(refurb.com $2895 factory sealed LC37GU) and eBay for $2919 plus shipping.
Are you using the component cables or DVI for HDTV?

LCD televisions sure are improving fast... six months ago every Aquos
model I looked at was terrible.
