I have got a seagate 320gb external hard drive, which I have dropped and cracked the case of. Is it possible to take the hard drive out of this case and put it in new caddy. I have seen a couple of caddys which let you connect the hard drive straight to a tv and watch video and play music through your tv, could I do this with the seagate hd. Does anyone know the actual specs of the drive inside seagate external hd.
Thanks
erdie

dont know the specs of that drive. Just unscrew the case and take a look at the drive. All the external media drives i have come across have been standard ide or sata drives inside the case, yours shouldn't be any different. Once you take the drive out of the case there should be a label describing what it is (e.g. ide 320gb yada yada yada)

Once you know what the drive inside is, buy a new case to match. I use ebuyer alot as they're cheap :-)
