Hi all,

I'm starting the process of info gathering for purchasing a new system. I've settled on the following so far:

Case: Antec P180
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Processor Fan: Zalman CNPS9500AT Ultra Quiet CPU
Graphics Card: BFG GeForce 8800GTX OC2 768MB GDDR3

I've a €2,000 budget and with the above I reckon I've about €550 left to play with.

I now need advice on what Motherboard and compatible Ram to go for.

Advice?

Cheers :)

EDIT: forgot to mention, I'm not interest in SLI configs

I'd go with the EVGA 680i motherboard, widely known as the best motherboard for overclocking, though the Gigabyte DS3 is also a good choice if you don't plan to rung your GPU's in SLI.

There are many good choices for RAM, but get DDR2 800 from Corsair, G. Skill, Patriot, Geil, Kingston, Mushkin - all good brands. Corsair works very well for me and I have a 680i motherboard. These will vary in latency (the lower the better), so check prices to see what you can afford.

Hey, I definitely don't need an SLI board so the EVGA one probably is over kill. Also does the Gigabyte DS3 support Quad core processors?
