Has anyone lapped a 120-ultra or 120-ultra extreme? Before/after temps, pics or tips on the process would be great. I'm thinking about doing it to mine and to my Q6600.

Thanks!

I lapped my ultra-120. Dude they are perfectly FLAT to. The reason I did this was because my e6400 was concave and i could tell. It wasn't performing as well under load as I would have liked. I lapped the crap out of the cpu but the cooler lapped evenly the entire time. I would almost suggest not lapping the cooler at all, just the CPU and see what happens. I've heard their design was intended to have the machined edge to give more surface area. The thermal paste fills in the small space between effective increasing the surface area of the cooler. But then again flat metal on flat metal can't be wrong either.
