i have three computers each with a gigabit nic one ubuntu and 2 xpsp2

they are connected through a gigabit switch which is in turn connected to a 10/100 router. my question is does the router slow my connection? as current transfers are recorded at roughly 8MBs a sec or do i have other issues.

are there any resonably priced gigabit routers out there?

thanks for your help

as a test, set each computer to a static ip address, disconnect the router and run trasfers again. This will tell you if its the router or not.
