One of my friends gave me one of his older comps to set up a mini lan at my house, but I have a problem. Any monitor I connect to it does not work(says either no input or just stays black), the graphics card is a XFX 6800 Nvidia, and I have to use a DVI to analog converter since I dont have any DVI cables around. Anyone have any advice to fix this?

Im pretty sure the graphics card is good, but im not sure if the system is booting.

Does the monitor go into standby straight away, or is it on but just black?
