HI iwant to buy a new graphic card my budget is around 160$ i am confused between getting 7600GT or 8600GT my monitor resolution is 1024*768 iwnt to play DX9 games and as well as DX10 games i don't like anti-aliasing or stuff like that i just want a decent graphic card, good price performance ratio

alsdo in PAKISTAN the price difference between the two card is around 15$

well....seeing as the price difference is so low, you may as well go for the 8600GT. Compared with the 7600 it is quite a lot better.....however....compared with other dx9 cards like a x1950 pro on the 7800 cards....it struggles. But seeing as you only want to game at 1024x768 it should be fine. Though i wouldn't put my hopes up on it being able to play DX10 games very well, since we don't really know anything about the requirements of a dx10 game.

Perhaps you can just wait till a dx10 game is out before getting a dx10 card, and just buy a dx9 card for now to last you 6-7 months.

According to the nVidia requirements, the 8600's only require 22A.

And the 7600 GT would be OK on an 18-20A PSU aswell.

Of course, ur probably just being safe..

so if i buy 7600GT it will last for at least 1 year
how is 86ooGT in DX9 gaming?

8600 gt = X1950 Pro/7950 gt = 2x 7600 gt

8800 gts = 2x 8600 gt

8600 gt = 150$
8800 gts = 250$

I'm not sure if you're able to order from NewEgg or not, but if you are the 8600 GTS is creeping dangerously close to your price range.
