I recently posted for advise regarding Sony's model KV32HS510.
The replies I got were all positive, saying this was a good set to buy. I
went to a few stores this weekend and cannot find this model. All the
retailers in this area are carrying the KV32HS420. Does anyone know what
the differences are? Is the "510" still available? Who's got it in this
area(Northern NJ-NYC metropolitan area)? Anyone know a good online
retailer to use?

try Disco Electronics in Springfield on Rt22 (eastbound, next to JMK
Saab/BMW). best prices on Sony. You can call them for a stock check, but
they won't quote a price over the phone. worth the trip from Paramus...
you don't want to pay shipping on a TV thru the internet, and Disco's price
on my KD-34XBR960 was $130. cheaper than the best price i found online....

Al:
KV-32HS510 is last years Model and is probably all sold
out by now... I thought you knew this & had 510 on hold ....
when you posted...
The KV-32HS420 is the current new 'replacement' model
for the 510 series where the 420 is cheaper (less $) &
has reduced features ( like lesser speakers, new case,
and No Pic & Pic)....
What Sony did was offer 420 which is below 510 features...
and offer a New 955 which is above 510, but less
than the Sony 960 'with everything & is Superb'...

I'm learning... I trying to become knowledgable regarding this
technology. It must be interesting working in these retailers and trying to
explain this technology to some of the customers. Many folks out there
cannot even program their VCR player, so trying to buy one of these systems
without any prior knowledge must be difficult at best.

Just about every salesman I have talked to immediately lied to me
about the so called conversion deadlines in a year or two. I doubt
they are concerned about explaining anything factual to a potential
mark.
