Vista & Hardware controller

I hope this is the right place to post, so here goes:

I have a SiI0680A controller card which I can't get working under Vista. I've tried both 32bit drivers here, but Vista just won't find the harddrive it's connected too. It seems to find the controller card, but not the drive! I just switched from XP, and in there it worked fine. I've googled all night but haven't come up with anything.

Do I maybe need to update the firmware-or-whatever on the controller card?

So any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
