Windows Classic Mode

Using Windows XP. I prefer the 'classic mode' scheme display option for desktop. However when I restart my PC it reverts back to the windows xp display scheme. I run several PCs and this is the only one that has this issue. Recently the HDD was reformatted and windows xp reinstalled yet the problem persists. Would love to know what is causing this to happen. Anyone else ever experienced this ?

Never ran into this. If you haven't done so, double check all your desktop and start up settings. You may need to change a Registry setting, I think most of this stuff is controlled in the Registry, but I have absolutely no idea how of proceed with this. Have you checked Microsoft XP Support site? It's actutally can be very useful if you can ever find what you're looking for.
