Heya guys, got a comp I'm working on and it seems that one of the two EIDE slots are not working. It was working erratically but not when I plug either the CDROM or the Hard Drive in it doesn't even show up in the BIOS.

Thing is I just got a nifty multimeter and I am wondering if there is a way to test the slot to find out exactly what is going on with it and if so how do you do it.

I know it doesn't really matter. I'm gonna relpace the motherboard anyway but like I said just curious. Thanks for the help in advance.

you would first have to know what is being output from the (ide) slots.
or is suppose to be (output).

not counting input. vlts,current,resistance,etc.

probably too much trouble.
unless you are that currious?

a (dvom) is a nice tool though.
im sure you can find lots of uses with it.
