I'm thinking of replacing my AGP video card, a Radeon 9800 XT with a Geforce 7600 GT:

My current Mobo is somewhat old, an Intel D875PBZ which restricts me to AGP:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-010692.htm

The only restriction I know of on selecting a video card is the voltage referenced by the Intel mobo, 1.5 v or .8 v, unless frequency is a limiting factor. The mobo has an 800 mHz bus, the card has a 560 mHz clock rate.

Will the 7600 GT card work on this mobo? Is it worth replacing the ATI 9800 XT with it?

get the 7600GT OC from BFG AGP. AGP= big bucks. get an 7800 series card if your computer can support it. the best agp made at the moment. dx10 cards might never become AGP. buy from newegghttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130274

False indeed:

1- The X1950 XT is available for AGP. It so many leagues above the 7800 GS it's not even funny.

2- The X1950 PRO is also available for AGP, and will east a 7800 GS alive.

3. The 7800 GS is no faster than a 7600 GT. The best bets in AGP for the $$ are the 7600 GT and X1650 XT, which perform similarly. Both will beat down a 9800 XT pretty hard.

Unless u want to overclock.

The 7600 GT has 12 shader/texture pipes but has a 90nm process.
The 7800 GS has 16 shader/texture pipes but has a 110nm process.

So their core performance is arond the same at it's maximum overclock.
Howeve the 7800 GS wins because it has twice the memory bus.

Its all explained in my sig for anyone else who wants to see exactly what im talking about.
