I was trying to watch the launch of the most recent shuttle on my PPC.

I have a SCH-i730, PPC 2003, with EVDO on Verizon

When I call up this URL through the phones browser

http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/scp/v [...] t_id=15891

the stream never starts.

Does PPC support streaming vedio...it works fine on my laptop.

Thanks Ed,

Yes well they've specifically chosen to make it next-to-impossible for
the PPC to support their broken 'player'. It's encumbered with about
100k of trash webpage which appears to be there only to obfuscate the
site source.

Try copy & pasting this from notepad and see if it opens from the
player File->Open URL box :

mms://mudwmle018.bcst.mud.yahoo.com/bcenc202210?StreamID=17131263&sg_id=49573&b=9e01ogh16avp042e8015d&Segment=149773&RegID=45611751015156790&ru=MozillaMSIE&CG_ID=1369081

Yeah I've been putting my data plan to good use by watching this stream.
Even over 1x data the 161k stream buffers only a few times every couple of
minutes.

Apparently their press release said they had 350000 WM streams and
another 90000 Real streams at launch, through Yahoo and Akamai.

Total data rate was about 50 GIGAbits ber second !!!

Wow 50 gigs, and to think I'm fighting to get a measly 2Mb for my church.
