I'd like to overclock my E6700 (on a P5N32-E SLI) to 3.0 GHz.

I've never done any overclocking before, but after reading various
posts I've come to the conclusion that I should be able to overclock
the E6700 to 3 GHz with stock cooling?

Since I'm new in this field I'd very much appreciate if someone with
experience in overclocking a E6700/P5N32-E SLI combination could
give me detailed instructions on what settings to change to achive that.

As I understand it, I change the "FSB (QDR) , MHz" BIOS value to 1200
(300 quad pumped) to get 10x300 = 3 GHz CPU speed?

But before I do that I apparently need to disable a few BIOS settings
(CPU Thermal Control etc?).
Which ones?

Do I need to change any voltage settings? Which ones and to what
values?

And finally, I'm currently running my RAM in unlinked mode at 800 MHz
(4,4,4,12).

Should a change that to linked (1:1?) mode or can I leave it as it is
(which I would prefer)?
(If I changed it to linked (1:1) mode it would run at 600 MHz?)

Thanks!

Thanks for the link.

I overclocked to 3 GHz without any problems, but that's apparently
a mild overclock so I didn't expect any.

I'm not going to go any further at this point since the voltage tweaking part of it is beyond my comprehension at this point...
