I see that during the FOX football telecasts the advertise that they
are using 720p and Dolby Digital 5.1. My question is that I receive my
HD signal from Comcast HD (Chicago). The picture couldn't be better;
however, the audio signal is not coming through at 5.1...rather it's
Dolby Digital 2.0. Is this a setting problem on my end? I'm using an
optical cable straight from the Comcast HD box to my reciever.

I watched both the Bear Game & Packer 'Game' both on FOX-HD OTA
in GBay, WI yesterday... Yes, Both games were in DD 5.1
both per my ears & via the Onkyo AV-501 Receiver read out....
The DD 5.1 can only feed thru to Your TV IF the FOX HD Network and
the FOX HD local in Chicago and Comcast Chicago all
have installed the Dolby Digital audio equipment......
If any of the 3 links are missing DD in HD signal.. No DD 5.1..

I decided to give Comcast support a call today and see if there was
anything they could do about me not recieving DD 5.1 sound. The rep
said she would reset my DVR box and it should let the DD 5.1 kick in.
It actually worked. So now if the show is in DD 5.1 I'm actually
getting it.
