I need to send a large file to a freind of mine who lives across the country, im in NY she is in Ca. I have a fast 30/5 cable connection and she has a a 5/2 cable connecion. So what would be the best way to quickly send the file to her?? Its about 5gigs so its to large to email and free hosting sites like rapidshare are extrmely slow. Is there anyway to get a more direct connection between our two computers?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Well you can send it over a messeging program like AIM or MSN or something for a easy way or you can setup a FTP server and send it that way. Either way it depends on your up-stream broadband speed. USPS would be the fastest though.
File Apartment (http://www.fileapartment.com) is good.

- Easy to use
- No software to download or registration required

Hi Frankiency123,
To send big files over the net (as you said in your post, as large as 5 GB), I generally prefer using sendtoperson.com. It allows you to send 2 gigs at a time but what you can do is to split the files so that it should be less than 2 gigs using a file split utility, and then the service lets you send the file securely over the net. The service doesn’t require installation of any software, its web browser based. There’s no spam or ads. You can get an account for free and start sending your files. The recipient of your file gets an email with a link to download it while, at the other end you will get an acknowledgement t is downloaded.
Check out SizableSend.com. It lets you send REALLY large files, like huge - You can send 20GBs per session, 2GB max per file, unlimited usage, no login or signup, no trial period - 100% FREE! (www.sizablesend.com)
