new comp compactability proble. ?

hi all my 1st post

my dad just got this computer delivered today.
amd cpu am2 athlon dual core 4000 retail box in fan socket am2 940 pin.

asrock am2nf3-vsta nforce 3 250 agp sata raid lan 7.1 ch audioo atx
motherboard

kingston value ram 1 gb 533 mhz ddr2 pc4200 memory

450 quiet p4/amd pfc 12cm fan retail 20pin/24pin psu

everything powers on right like the cpu fan and the gfx cards im trying with it but the moniter isnt coming on?
ive tryed a radeon 9800 se agp card
a
geforce 6600gt agp card
but the moniter isnt coming on whatsoever?

does any1 know if this stuff isnt compatable with 1 another please?
of if there might be another problem?

Nforce 3 250 is a socket 754 MB, not AM2.

If you had just looked at the name of the board you would have seen it's a AM2 socket with nForce3 chipset. Or you could have looked it up on the Asrock website.

no nothing m8 but ive noticed the moniter light flashes on and off?

is this mem my dad bought compatable with the board?
plus ive tryed 3 different agp cards and still no bootup?

ive had simlar problems with the motherboard i have i think its something to do with the voltage of the agp slot?
as i have the asrock dyualsata2 motherboard and when i put my 6600gt gfx card in the agp slot it doesnt post?
but the card is fine but only seems to work on older motherboards for some strange reason?

but when i put my old radeon 9800 se hgx card into my asrock dualsata2 motherboard everything works fine.
i tryed this card in tyhis new comp my dad has bought and nothing very weird obviously a compactability problem.
any help on this will be greatly apriciated.

I see. All of my NF3 boards are socket 754. Yours is an AM2, my mistake.

ive tryed this new psu my dad bought with the comp everything powers up just no post.
plus i tryed my psu from my computer yet the same results it works fine in mine aswell.

Try booting the computer with one DIMM of RAM in slot 1. Try resetting the CMOS jumper. Be sure to unplug the PSU and remove the battery when you reset the switch. If that fails, boot the computer with no RAM. You will have to have a speaker hooked to the MB speaker header. If you do not hear the MB beeping signifying there is no RAM in the system, you have a bad MB.

i think its something to do with this nforce 3 chipset dont think there compatable with these gfx cards?
taking it back to the shop tommorrow now anyway so hopefully well be able to exchange it for another board
