USB Drive Bios Update

I have been trying to find somewhere to explain exactly how I create a bootable USB drive and then update my Bios with it. I have found a few, but they never seem to explain it clearly enough, anyone who thinks they could walk me through it would be great.

I would make a floppy but my computer lacks a floppy right now

Depending on your motherboard you may not have to; some motherboards have flashing utilities built into the BIOS that can flash from the floppy, hard drive, and/or USB. Check your motherboard manual as my Gigabyte has the utility but can only flash from a floppy (big help, I know). Here's a link that has two ways to do it; one takes 20 minutes, the other 1 minute.
