my computer is now into he habit of randomly shutting down.

My first thought is oevrheating, as it tends to happen in a warm room or when im really running the graphics and stuff.

is there anyway i can pinpoint the problem? could it be the powersupply?

i dont wanna fork out for a new card if i dont need one lol

cheers for reading. Luke

Lots of things could be at fault. Your only solution is to replace the part with a spare you might have around or borrow one from a friend for testing.

Could be a memory module going bad... Graphics card overheating... Power supply... etc.

Memory is easy, just remove all but one module and run some memory stress tests that utilize all the memory available in the system. If it crashes then there you have it.

For video and power you would need an alternative part.
