I currently have bios version F10 and have multiplier is set to 9 and fsb is 266. CPU-Z tells me that I'm running with a 6 multiplier. Easytune tells me the multiplier is 9 but reads the speed as 1.6GHz.

I have vista installed so maybe it's a problem with that but vista tells me that I'm at 2.4GHz when I look at system properties.

Also on a cold start I get a long beep and then a short one, system still boots and everything is fine, no errors or freezing. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced something like that?

Also having issues with shutting down but I think that is more Vista related but not 100% sure. Any help is appreciated.

For my 965P-DS3 with an E6600 the CPU-Z and BIOS numbers match.

I notice that CPU-Z is reporting quite a low cpu voltage. While the value it reports for mine is would be about .04 below what I set in that range, it still suggests you have it set to something barely over 1.20. I did some fairly extensive frequency vs. voltage checks on mine. I think that voltage at 2.4 GHz is quite close to the edge of working just for booting into Windows on my system.

On the other hand for my system that voltage at 1.6 GHz would have appreciable margin.

Why not try a higher voltage (better yet, try the default).

My bet is that you _are_ in fact running at 1.6 GHz, not 2.4.

Actually I got some help in the CPU forums. Turns out I had to disable the energy saving mode inside the bios. All is good now.

On another note I am getting a long beep followed by what sounds like a short chirp when I do a cold start. When restarting the PC all I get is the normal beep you would hear with any motherboard upon a good post.

Any experience on this from anyone here?
