Cannot highlight folders and files in vista

hey pplz,

i installed vista ultimate on my new computer. whenever i want to highlight files or folders, it doesn't. i press control or shift and select it but it doesn't. I can't even highlight with the mouse (blue box). Can anyone help me?

The highlight colors are 'glass'... meaning they are VERY light (this is just a guess because this is the first time I've heard this problem). You may be highlighting something but you just dont' know it. Hey, hit the delete key and see if it goes away. j/k Check the 'themes' and possibly select a different 'highlight' option.
