Hi, ive done my first overclock and set the ram timings to 5.5.5.12, vcore to 1.35000, drr2 overvoltage to +0.2. fsb is in 1:1 mode and currently at 3.2 ghz for my e6600. im using a noctua heatsink.

When using orthos the temps never get as high as they do with TAT using the 100% load option. What is the maximum temp i should stay below on TAT? is it safe to get to 65C seeing as TAT does higher loads than normal?

with the current settings its getting around 63c on TAT, and the idle temps are about 43C.

i dont fully understand what the differnt voltage settings do, although I have read the noob guides multiple times. I left the fsb voltage on normal, didnt change the mch volt (i dont have a northbridge cooler). So basicly the only volts ive changed are teh vcore and the ram one.

please advice

I've only changed the vcore and memory voltage to acheive my overclock. The reason you have to give more juice to these components if you are running them at a faster rate. To run efficiently they need more power at faster rates. 65C is ok with TAT 100% because normally any app or game you run will only really tack out at 70% of what TAT does. 100% is the MAX you can load on your CPU you will never see this otherwise but is a good stress test. Are you stock cooling? Id say if you go any higher than you ar currently you will want a better cooler.

im using a noctua fan and heatsink, the good one (cant remember correct name). But i just ran Orthos blend test and it failed after 54 minutes, stopped. now my idle temps have shot up, ther sitting at 48c and 50c
