Ok I have been able to run many games on my rig. including quake 4 on high settings, they all run flawlessly except for BF:2142. I don't think its a hardware problem. need help my system is

ASUS A8N SLI premium
512MB DDR400 kingston hyper X
AMD 64 3700+ (OC'D to 2.6)
XFX 6600gt 128MB
latest nvidia drivers 158
vista basic for this system

i have it set to run as administrator and even set it to run in xp compatibility but to no avail still bogging down it take about ten minutes to load a map i have no settings on what so ever and the game will sometimes slow to a crawl
and i cant go online because i get punkbustered out

Here's a link, in Tom's Hardware with the same problem and it has one possible solution (turn UAC off). Also, there are 35,000 hits on google for "BF:2142 Vista". It seems to run fine for most people.

Uninstall fully, delete the folder it was made in. Let sit for a few days, reinstall, should work fine. Battlefield 2142 stopped working for a while for me, then it worked fine after uninstalling it and installing it again.

512MB of ram isn't going to be good for BF2142 either...

I'd recommend 2 gis of RAM for Vista. 1 at least.

if online you are getting punkbustered out and then it doesn't actually tell you why, then it is the issue I had which I sorted by manually updating punkbuster and then running 2142 as an administrator
