I have been having this problem lately where sometimes programs wont end properly.
What i mean is that say i was running firefox and i closed it, and even though all the windows are gone, the process is still running in the background and is taking up 100% cpu.
This isnt just firefox doing this though its lots of programs. It happens to run32.dll a lot and most games that i play will not close properly.
But it doesnt always happen.
Sometimes all the programs will close fine and then for some unknown reason almost all the programs you try to close stay around with 100% cpu usage.

I have tried reinstalling graphics card drivers and direct x and i have checked for virus's and spyware and things.

So if anyone has any idea what might be happening or what i should do to try and find out whats happening please say.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

wow do you need all of that? 5 processes for av and firewall, and then you got all those apps running and starting with windows.

daemon, steam, messenger, skype, quicktime, realtime, way too many at one time and just eating your CPU.

do me a favor, msconfig, disable all none ms services then disable all startup then reboot and run your za and then see if you can duplicate your problem.

I believe you got a software conflict some where ;)
