I'm running windows xp home on a laptop with sp2 installed. When I plug in a usb thumb drive, it asks me to install drivers, which I know I don't need because I've used the same thumb drive multiple times on multiple computers, with no problems. It usually just opens up.
If anyone could help me out on this I would really appreciate it.
As I said I'm positive the thumb drive itself is not the issue.
When the Locate the Driver window opens up, try this... browse to the drive the computer selected. When you find it, click on the Next button again. Go to My Computer, click on the drive and see if it opens up. If it does, pull it out (using the safely remove first) and then plug it back in and see if it asks you again.
