Hey guys, I got some new RAM for my system recently as I overclocked the FSB of my C2D E6300. It currently runs at 2.8ghz with 1600mhz FSB (400mhz QDR). My question is my RAM is currently 800mhz CL5, which in dual channel run at 1600mhz giving me a ratio of 1:1 with the CPU FSB (which is good obviously coz they work in sync with each other) but what kind of performance gain do I get because of this? For example what kind of difference would I see if I put say 667mhz CL4 memory in the computer (totalling 1333mhz dual channel). I'm really hoping its the 800mhz stuff thats the wise choice but if you guys know about the differences with my FSB being as it is I would be grateful.

Just curious about what difference it makes.

ddr = double-data-rate, 400*2 there goes your ram

marginal if any at all in gaming, and some perf. gain in time when it comes to rendering/encoding video/audio.
