Is it bad to defrage HD twice a week or more?

Is it bad to defrag HD twice a week? someone told me that frequent defrag of HD can cause the spindle head to wear out.

It's no worse than simply using your computer... in fact if you defrag daily, it's keeps the file system from getting too fragmented and it will have much less work to do when it does defrag.
