What are DVI resolutions relative to stated analog VGA resolutions for graphics cards? For instance, I was looking at some low end PCIe units like the ATI card with a Radeon X1050 chip which claimed 2048 x 1536 res analog, but lists no DVI res. Another card was based on an nVidia GeForce 7100 chip also claimed 2048 x 1536 res analog, but again lists no DVI res.
Is there a way to figure out any card's DVI res based on listed analog res? I've been looking at some 22in. LCDs with 1680x1050 res and want to make sure these cards can feed 'em. Thanks for any help with this.

There is none, they are independant. Analogue uses RAMDAC speed as the restriction, Digital uses the TMDS speed/combination for max resolution.
IIRC the 1050 is not dual-link sso it's max would be the same as the GF7100 which would be 1600x1200 without reduced blanking and 1920x1200 max reduced blanking.

Should work, but if you look at the link I have up there later they test the quality of some of the integrated TMDS and they can be so poor as to not be good even for the 16x10 resolution, but they will 'work'.
