Hi Chaps,
Im looking to buy a 2nd hard disk for my system mainly for backup purposes and also in the future to maybe have XP on one disk and Vista on the other. Does anyone know of a good free backup utility that works in the same way Norton Ghost does? Where as it creates a full image of my computer (including settings, drivers, everything!) to the 2nd drive? It should also have the option to create a boot cd or floppy so if the disk fails totally I can put in aboot cd onto 2nd disk and restore my system totally onto the 2nd spare disk? Im sure there are programs out there that does this but don’t know if there free or not! Changing the subject a bit if you have Windows XP on one hard disk and Windows Vista on your 2nd hard disk when your system boots does it ask you which operating system to boot into or would you have to do it in the bios by changing first boot device?
Thanks in Advance.
ghosts sucks, free software is not gonna be as good you need Acronis True Image
as for 2 drives, which ever you set the bios to boot off of should do it and what ever drive is your primary will boot.
you need to have a backup to restore if anything goes wrong, the boot CD you are talking about only has the software tools on it not a restore of your drive
best way to backup is with Acronis via the rescue CD and clone option
