37C at idle? What kind of water cooling do you have? Pretty darn high temps, I can't even get my D805 over 33C no matter how hard I push it...and it puts out lots of heat.

I bet you can push for more on the clockspeed, what memory do you have?

First he asked if his temps are good for that processor at idle and they are, could they be better, yes it’s possible. Now as for your OC 805 that you say idles at 33C and barely moves when under load, I find it hard to believe that your temps don’t raise at least 10C under full load. What are you using to measure these temps? In house temps and humidity have a big effect whether its water cooled or air cooled, so to say that his temps are aren't good without knowing anything about his setup is kind of arrogant.

Did I say I idle at 33c? Nope. Don't get defensive if you can't read the content of a post.

Idle around 20C +/- 1.

I'm measuring temps with a Galileo thermometer and my left pinky finger.

I asked "What kind of water cooling do you have?" with the intent of giving suggestions to increase performance. I can understand if it is a Bigwater kit or something, but if he is running any sort of DIY kit, I plan on giving advice to drop temps.

By using my own success, I build rapport and credibility to show I have knowledge on the subject.

If I were being arrogant, I surely wouldn't tell everyone that I have a D805...

Maybe because it was not clearly written I was left with the impression that it was 33C and never got higher and 20C I find hard to believe. Galileo thermometer? Are you saying that your using a thermoscope as a thermometer made of a sealed glass cylinder containing a clear liquid with weights that are themselves sealed glass containers suspended in the liquid to measure temperatures. Or is this some electronic device using that name as a sales gimmick? 8)

Well I reread it and it made perfect sense to me. Sorry you got confused.

Yes, the Galileo thermometer was a little sarcasm, I threw in the left pinky to make sure everyone would pick up on it.

Why can't I be arrogant about my temps? My setup is pretty cool, at least I think so anyway.

Pretty darn good.

My e6600 at 3.1 runs about 37-38c at idle and around 46-47c at load with orthos maxxing both cores after 20 minutes or so.

My room temps/ambient are around 25c right now, back in the winter with the room at 17-18c, it was 5 degrees cooler on idle and load.
