Best Performance

I currently have a Pentium D(ogmeat) with DDR2-667. Should I go with intel C2D or AMD X2. I dont have the cash to get DDR2-800 atm. What processor will give me the best performance for the ram I have? Core 2 Duo or AMD X2?

Intel C2Ds at stock speeds run memory at 266MHz (DDR2-533) for the E6xxx series, and 200MHz (DDR2-400) for the E4xxx series. Buy one of those and you won't need new memory.
