How buy simcard for unlocked E586

Hello,
I'm traveling to the UK and Europe in a few weeks and I'd like to buy an unlocked E586 and buy simcards for use while traveling. I cannot find any information on the cost or options when purchasing a simcard abroad. Can someone share how they bought a simcard and how much they cost? How much is the 3G service if I buy a simcard in Europe?
