I just bought a Geforce 8800 gts OC version and the temp is 60 c until i start playing. then so far it goes to 69C. i haven't pushed it to max though. I have noticed when i hooked it up my fans all of them slowed to about 50% normal. i doubt its a psu problem being it has 500 watts and only 1 HDD (and a power hungry Pentium D) (the fans are monitored by the case and speed is increased by some contoler but has never worked).

Any way what should be a cautious and dangerous temp range for a geforce 8800 gts? And is there any info on the geforce 8800 that i should know about if so plz share.

Dunno but i just read on nvidia forum that the card have been tested at 145c and worked so dont worry about your temp, you are fine. Video card run hotter then cpu does. If you want to make it cooler, just make lots of air flow into your case.

Yes, because they use more power to perform better.

You don't have to worry, 60C is good. You should consider better cooling when the card is always in the 100C range at load.
