Hello all, Welcome back to Windows 98 
I have an old HP Kayak, after a few modem issues i reinstalled 98 over the current installation, retaining all programs etc. Since then i can't get Windows to load properly - it freezes on the Windows boot screen, progress bar immobile.
I can boot into safe mode, and deleting the enum folder in the LocalMachine\hardware\ registry folder will allow it to boot up, install new hardware, and freeze upon detecting the PCI Bus.
Restart, and its back to freezing at the boot screen. I can hear the chimes of the clock in th ebackground though - iirc this is the "welcome to windows 98" tour?
any help much apreciated
